As noted earlier, on a hot day your roof can go well over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, which then transfers into your home making you uncomfortable.
To echo Energy Secretary Dr. Chu, “When you’re thinking of putting on a new roof, make it white.†It costs nothing more than a “regular” roof but will save you lots in the long run. (There are also tax incentives available.)
